Acem Meditation Day

Treat yourself

On 27th January it will be Acem´s birthday. Why not celebrate by giving yourself a day off, a day to recharge your batteries, so you can seize the opportunities of a New Year. Long meditation (2hours) and later another one hour group meditation, guidance, tea, lunch and a talk about Acem. Everything to provide you with that magic mixture of powerful silence and a conductive space in which to share your experiences of meditation.

This Meditation Day will be a good warm-up for The Ammerdown Retreat, if you're going, or an alternative, if you cannot be there this year.

Program:

11:00am - 01:00pm Meditation

01:00pm - 01:45pm Guidance and tea

01:45pm - 02:30pm Lunch

02:30pm - 03:15pm Talk and questions

03:15pm - 04:15pm Meditation

04:15pm - 04:45pm Closing words and cake/tea

Join the whole program or come for lunch and stay for the rest of the day, if that suits you better.

53 years have passed since a group of young students at Oslo University established Acem. Since then it has become established in many countries. On 22nd Sept 2018, Prof. Are Holen, the founder of Acem was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Open University. As they said, "His rigorous research and compassionate practice have transformed the lives of people across the world"

Maria Gjems-Onstad, psychologist and Acem Initiator, will tell the inside story of how this amazing growth has been achieved. She will answer questions and reflect upon how effortless mental repetition of a meaningless sound can lead to personal development. Alice Cameron, teacher and Acem Moderator in London, will speak about the activities in England and perspectives for the future.
